What is IEA?
IEA Stands for Interscholastic Equestrian Association and offers riders in grades 4th to 12th the opportunity to compete as a team in a format that mirrors College IHSA Shows.
How do the Horse Shows work?
Riders will be drawn horses at random and will compete on said horse. Riders have the opportunity to compete in up to 5 regular season horse shows in order to try and rack up enough points individually and as a team to qualify for Region Finals where they could move on to Zone Finals and even National Finals.
What if I ride at another barn?
That is ok too! As long as you lesson at least once a week by an approved instructor, you will only need to take 2 IEA lessons per month with Coach Molly. Molly is also happy to come to your farm for lessons as long as your farm is ok with that. Coach Molly is fully insured.
Why join IEA?
IEA gives riders a team dynamic and teaches good sportsmanship as we support and cheer on our fellow riders. IEA is also a more affordable way for riders to compete at a recognized level.
Do I need to have my own horse?
Absolutely not. Riders will take lessons on our IEA Horses. If you do have your own horse, you are welcome to lesson on your horse, but are encouraged to lesson on an IEA horse from time to time. Our team will supply a couple horses at the IEA Shows to add to the "pot" of horses that riders will draw from. Riders who wish to have their horse be included in the IEA Shows will get discounted show fees.
